Kilauea Status Report issued Jul 29, 2010 16:43 HST Volcano Alert Level WATCH - Aviation Color Code ORANGE (2010-07-31)
Lava from the TEB vent is flowing through tubes that carry lava down-slope to feed active surface flows in two locations on the coastal plain: (1) Geologic mapping this afternoon revealed minor activity on the north side of the lava that has been advancing toward Kalapana Gardens, with very little eastward expansion. A few scattered lava breakouts on the north side of the flow advanced up to 60 m (200 ft) in the past 24 hours, but most advanced less than 30 m (100 ft). Lava continues to enter the ocean at two locations southwest of Kalapana Gardens, with ...

Kilauea Status Report issued Jul 30, 2010 16:19 HST Volcano Alert Level WATCH - Aviation Color Code ORANGE (2010-07-31)
Lava from the TEB vent is flowing through tubes that carry lava down-slope to feed active surface flows in two locations on the coastal plain: (1) Observations late this morning revealed only small outbreaks on the north side of the lava that has been advancing toward Kalapana Gardens. The slow advance of flows may be related to an ongoing deflation-inflation cycle, which affects lava supply to the east rift zone. Most of the lava activity observed today was along flows feeding the two ocean entries located southwest of Kalapana Gardens. Both ocean entries are ...

Kilauea Daily Update issued Jul 30, 2010 07:49 HST Volcano Alert Level WATCH - Aviation Color Code ORANGE (2010-07-31)
Another DI deflation started late last night and Kilauea eruptive activity continued at two locations. In the east rift zone, lava flowed from the TEB vent through tubes to supply active surface flows in Kalapana that advanced slightly to the north and fed two ocean entries yesterday. The summit eruptive vent within Halema`uma`u Crater hosted a lava pond that produced red glow visible from the Jaggar Museum overnight. Sulfur dioxide emission rates from the summit and east rift zone vents remained elevated. ...
